Romeo

Our little Romeo is nearly 8 weeks old. He will be going for his microchip and needles later this week. I am always concerned as they are so little and the microchip needle is so big. Sometimes they yelp quite a bit so I know they are hurting which only makes me feel bad for being such a big bully. I know its for their own protection and security for their new owners, but it doesn't make me feel any better on the day.

At 8 weeks he is weaned and eating on his own. We have been slowly offering him a variety of foods. So far he prefers the wet puppy food over the soggy biscuits. We therefore have been decreasing the wet biscuits and adding more dry food which he happily munches on through the day. He loves his water and drinks quite a bit throughout the day. He also loves chewing! As do most pups his age his teeth are extremely sharp. His nips in playtime are puncturing my fingers and hands so I have been giving him raw carrot and rawhide sticks to chew, which he happily plays and chews with.

His favourite game is "Pull the Sock off of Feet" and "Chase" He will madly chase me around the house and I have to be carefully not to trip over him he is so fast. He loves the grass and exploring too.

Toilet training is still a challenge but he readily uses the puppy pad close to his bed. So he is getting there.
