I have come to adore sable coloured puppies. They are like the "Forest Gump" quote:
"You never know what you're gonna get!"
Take our first litter for example. We had a sable male that started out predominantly black with a splash of fawn on his head. As he grew his couloring lightened and his facial markings became more and more exquisite.

Now he is fully grown he is almost all fawn in colouring with a splash of black on his tail and ears the only sign he was a sable puppy.
Our second litter produced 2 magnificent sable puppies.
A male and a female.
The male was almost all black at birth with little white paws, whilst the female was black with a light brown head and white toes.
The only thing that has remained constant in their colouring throughout their growth has been their white toes.
I have watched their colour changes through the eye of a kaleidescope, each day they surprise me with a new look. It may only be a subtle change in colour shade or a new line that has appeared in their markings but each is unique.
The male now has a black mask on his face with stunning golden undertones and the female has turned a creamy fawn with a buttery cream heart marking surrounding her face. Such beauty!

I am intrigued to find out how they finally turn out, aren't you?
